This Week In Media 1/14/14
Typical January week in Media, but good to see the Boss is still at it.
New This Week
In Theatres
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
This has the makings of a fun movie but not one you should spend
money on or one that you should carve time out of your schedule on.
If you do have plans to go to the theatres this weekend, without a
couple of kids in tow, then this is your pick because it’s about to
get much worse.
Ride Along
Kevin Hart continues his invasion of our televisions this time with Ice Cube as an angry guy. This movie does one of the most annoying things with their dvd cover…
Now I know who
these two men of color are, but if my mother picked this up she
might think oh so that’s what Ice Cube looks like on the left. You
are using a picture of the two main stars of the film, why not put
their names over their respective pictured faces? If it’s that
important to Ice Cube to be top billed, then sit on the fucking
left.
Devil’s Due
Oh wonderful another found footage horror film, this one coming out
in January, thanks.
The Nut Job
The good news about this film is the top 3 actors could make this worthwhile. The bad news is that I haven’t heard about this until now and 4th billed is Katherine Heigl. Proceed at your own kids mental health’s risk.
Tunes
Bruce Springsteen - High Hopes
This guy is still cranking out albums? At his age you’d think he’d play one of his marathon shows then sleep the entire day until his next marathon show. Where does he have the time to make a new album?
Jennifer Nettles - That Girl
The debut solo album from the lead singer of Sugarland. I have heard the title song from this album and I must say I’m not nearly excited about the rest of the album as the radio is.
Video Games
Assassins Creed: Liberation
Why are people still playing this game? I got sick of it after
about 50% of the first one. It’s the same four missions forever.
Buy the new GTA at least the missions are fun as all hell while
they last.
