The Best Sports Weekend in 2013 to Date
I have been thinking about this weekend for a while now, and it is finally here.
Saturday
Racing
NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron's 312 at Talladega
Kentucky Derby
NBA Playoffs Game 7
Chicago at Brooklyn
NHL Playoffs Game 2
New York Rangers at Washington
Toronto at Boston
St. Louis at Los Angeles
Boxing
Robert Guerrero vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Wow what a card. And not just the fight. We get an NBA game 7 on its own which is always an anything can happen scenario. Then we get two awesome races. One at the legendary Talladega, the other at the legendary Churchill Downs. Dega features a track that usually leads to a wild finish. The Derby will supposedly be facing rain this year. My pick for the race is the #10 Palice Malice who is currently at 20-1 odds. A bunch of playoff hockey game 2s take us into a Floyd Money Mayweather fight that has a rematch clause written into it. I smell an upset waiting to happen.
Sunday
NHL Playoffs Game 3
Pittsburgh at New York Islanders
Montreal at Ottawa
Chicago at Minnesota
Vancouver at San Jose
Racing
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Aaron's 499 at Talladega
Golf Final Round
Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, NC
NBA Playoffs *Game 7 if Necessary
Houston at Oklahoma City
Atlanta at Indiana
Boston at New York
More game 2’s in hockey. Another Dega race, final round golf with Rory looking like he’s up to par, and possibly an unprecedented 3 game sevens. And possible greatest playoff comebacks in NBA History. So this is a great weekend to sit back, relax and not do anything this weekend. Happy Greek Easter everyone.
