Remember... Life before ads everywhere
So we know NASCAR is big with ads, but they’ve actually improved by starting NASCAR “Side by Side;” where they will show commercials and the race at the same time. It’s a genius idea for a sport that doesn’t have stoppages for commercial breaks. However I fear we may be headed to side by side in every sport. And no, I don’t blame the economy for this one….
So remember when you
could go on YouTube, type in your video and just watch what you
looked for? Awesome wasn’t it? Well that’s long gone now. You
are now either forced to watch a 5, 15, or 30 second ad before you
can get to what you want to see. And the amount of time watching
the ad is completely random. There are days where I feel like every
other video I try to watch is some kind of advertisement. If you
are one of the fortunate ones to not get a video ad, you probably
get random ads popping up on the video itself that you need to X
out of. But that’s not where the ads end.
Remember when OnDemand was
the greatest thing ever? Miss a show, there it is OnDemand with
commercials, but you had the ability to fast forward through them.
Not anymore. This to me is really stupid because even if you are FF
through the commercial, you still see it even if you don’t hear
what
they are saying. I
understand that that’s why they make you get the DVR, but it never
used to be that way. Times were good. Now it’s all about the
Benjamins.
The NBA is adding more and
more ads/commercial time every day. Now they are saying that
uniform ads are almost inevitable. All we can r hope for is
that you are assigned your ad by your style of play. Like hopefully
Chris Bosh has a big Vagisil logo on his chest… but get used to the
ads if you haven’t already, they aren’t going anywhere.
