NFL Pick'Em: Week 15
Last week we may have been treated to the most exciting slate of the season. This week might be able to match that with several big/potentially fun games on deck.
* Home teams in bold.
AP3
Atlanta -6.5 over Washington
The Falcons are still playing for Mike Smith. No one is playing for Mike Shanahan.
Tampa Bay +5 over San Francisco
Little bit of a hangover at the wrong time for a 49ers team that just beat the best team in football.
Arizona -2.5 over Tennessee
One team still has hope for the playoffs, one team doesn’t.
New Orleans -6.5 over St Louis
The Saints got some swagger back last week after lighting up the Panthers.
Seattle -7 over NY Giants
Lock Alert!
Asswhoopin in the making as the Seahawks took a tough one last week.
Chicago PK over Cleveland
What’s going on here? The Bears get their starting QB back and they are only -1 against Cleveland? Something seems askew here.
Indianapolis -5 over Houston
The Colts get back on track to shut up all of the haters.
Jacksonville +2.5 over Buffalo
Moneyline Special!
The hottest team in football is getting 2.5 points?
Miami PK over New England
The Dolphins should have won the first meeting about a month ago.
Philadelphia -6.5 over Minnesota
AP is banged up, and the Vikings should be losing. The Eagles can see the NFC East title within their
grasp.
NY Jets +10 over Carolina
10 just feels like a lot of points for a team that is still trying at this point in the season.
Oakland +5 over Kansas City
Kansas City is all but locked into the 5 seed right now. No reason to be anything but vanilla on offense or defense.
Dallas -6 over Green Bay
I think we’ve seen the end of bad December Romo.
Cincinnati -1.5 over Pittsburgh
Now’s the time to hop on the Bengals at 14-1 to win the Super Bowl.
Detroit -6 over Baltimore
Because in order for Baltimore to ruin the Patriots season for me, they need to win out, so that’s exactly what will happen.

Washington +6.5 over Atlanta
The Redskins are going to rally around Kirk Cousins this week. The Falcons have been battling the past few weeks but ultimately they suck. That's not to say they won't battle once again this week, but the Redskins are about to play the best game of their season.
Tampa Bay +5 over San Francisco
Lock Alert
This should probably be titled "Hangover Alert" but that hasn't been a thing this year so let's stick with just simply calling it a lock. The 49ers are coming off a hard fought emotional win against the rival Seahawks, but will be heading to the east coast to face off against a Bucs team that has played exceptionally well since starting the season 0-8. Since then they are 4-1 with their lone loss coming @ Carolina. Three of their four wins have come at home but they also managed to win @ Detroit. I can't quite figure out why but they have seemingly come together as one and should be competitive with the 49ers this week. Hell, they may even pull off the upset.
Arizona -2.5 over Tennessee
Lock Alert
I'm not sure there is another team in the "National Football League" that needs to win this week more than the Cardinals. They currently sit just one game behind the 49ers with them coming to their place in Week 17. However, if that wasn't enough pressure to win, they have to go to Seattle next week. If they lose this week their season is likely over. But should they win we could be headed to another Week 17 matchup with everything on the line.
New Orleans -6.5 over St Louis
Lock Alert
This may seem like a sneaky trap game for the Saints since it is sandwiched in between their two matchups with the Panthers, but the Saints didn't skip a beat last week. They didn't have to come from behind or anything. They were able to avoid drama and go about business as usual. They might be a different team on the road but this is still in a dome. This could be the biggest blowout of the week. Over 47.5 is also a lock. The Saints might get to 48 by themselves.
Seattle -7 over NY Giants
Lock Alert
While it may be unlikely, the Seahawks could still lose home field advantage to the Saints. They need to win just one more game in order to clinch. Pair that with a disappointing loss to the rival 49ers and you have a blowout on your hands in this game. If you can find an over/under for the amount of turnover the Giants/Eli have bet your paycheck on the over then pay for Christmas and thank me later.
Chicago PK over Cleveland
Lock Alert
I do not envy Marc Trestman's job too much this week. He has elected to replace Josh McCown with Jay Cutler. While I can't completely blame him, McCown has been really good for this team since Cutler went down with an injury. If Cutler comes back this week and has one of his patented five turnover games Trestman's job might be on the line. Whereas if he stuck it out with McCown he may have been able to make the playoffs. Even though I just spelled out the impending storyline, I'm taking the Bears because of what happened to the Browns last week. Losing the way they did is almost certainly going to carry over to this week at least to some degree. Also the game ultimately means more to the Bears. They are going to show up ready to play.
Indianapolis -5 over Houston
Yuck. Stay away from this shit game. On one hand, the Colts are due to really whoop someone and make us rethink how good they are. On the other hand the Texans have the worst record in the league by a full game and are riding an eleven game losing streak so who is really due to play well? I'm going to lay the points because the Colts are at home and are in desperate need of playing a good game.
Jacksonville +2.5 over Buffalo
Another yuck game. I'll keep this quick, the Jags have won three straight and four out of five since heading into their bye at 0-8. They are playing much better than everyone seems to think. They simply are not 5.5 points worse than this Bills team.
New England PK over Miami
I can't believe I am making this pick after last week. While the Patriots pulled off an incredible win the only thing I took away from that game is that they suck. Not to mention the Dolphins are fighting for a playoff spot and traditionally play Brady very well. While last week should have been a big win for the Pats I'm not totally ready to give up on their season. Maybe they can't win an AFC Championship game in Denver without Gronk, but now that Denver lost to the Chargers, anything can happen. If Manning has to come to Foxboro for the big showdown the Patriots can knock the Broncos off. But they need to win out and that starts with the Dolphins this week.
Philadelphia -6.5 over Minnesota
While I really want to take the Vikings this week I just can't pull the trigger. Even if Peterson is playing at 100% the Vikings secondary is far too poor to slow down Nick Foles and the fast paced Eagles offense.
Carolina -10 over NY Jets
The Jets don't really do anything well on offense and that is going to be made very clear early and often against this Panthers team that has made a habit of blowing out bad teams. After losing to the Saints the way they did, they should bounce back in a big way as they get ready for another big showdown with Drew Brees and the Saints next week in their home building.
Kansas City -5 over Oakland
This has turned into a bit of a rivalry over the past few years but with the Broncos losing to the Chargers the Chiefs should be fired up for this one. They should lock the Raiders down with their defense and their offense should hold their own against a team that allowed Geno Smith to score 37 points.
Dallas -6 over Green Bay
Lock Alert
The Cowboys got embarassed on Monday night. Sure it's a short week but without Rodgers they need to roll through this game. Romo and the Cowboys offense is a different animal at home and after an abysmal effort by their defense, the Cowboys should win this one big. If they don't they might as well not bother showing up the rest of the way.
Pittsburgh +1.5 over Cincinnati
I don't really have any logic to back this one up. The Bengals don't want to lose that #3 seed and the Steelers offense might quit on offensive coordinator Todd Haley. But something tells me the Steelers are going to show up for this divisional matchup looking to hurt the Bengals season. If they lose this game, there is at least a chance that Mike Tomlin is on the hot seat and I think the players like him for the most part. So look for them to stick up for Tomlin and win this one outright.
Detroit -6 over Baltimore
Did the Ravens' rookie safety Matt Elam really call Calvin Johnson old? Is he really that dumb or does he really have that short of a memory? Last time someone called Calvin Johnson out it was Dez Bryant saying he could do everything Calvin could to which Calvin responded by catching 14 balls for 329 yards. Bad idea kid...
