AFC West Preview 2013

Image description

This bottom-feeder joke of a division last season seems to have improved going into 2013; but not by much.

How They Will Finish:

    1.      Denver Broncos -400 To Win the AFC West

It’s just too easy. Despite the fact that it feels like someone on the Broncos gets arrested every other weekend, Peyton Manning is too good. Now you give him a smart receiver in Wes Welker, and they become a Super Bowl favorite.

    2.     Kansas City Chiefs +550 To Win the AFC West

Much improved from last year with now veteran QB Alex Smith, and new Head Coach Andy Reid, the Chiefs take steps in the right direction. A few more picks to make the defense stronger, and if Andy Reid smartens up and realizes the phenom at running back he has in Jamaal Charles, the Chiefs will be a serious team in the next few years.

    3.     San Diego Chargers +600 To Win the AFC West

Yes they are better now that Norv Turner is gone, but unfortunately it feels like the window has closed for Phil Rivers. The team is not improving talent-wise, and everyone is getting a year older. Antonio Gates is over the hill, and I think the only player I know on their defense is Quinten Jammer (if he is still even on the team).

    4.    Oakland Raiders +2000 To Win the AFC West

Anyone that bets these guys to win the division should immediately be placed on the “No-Fly” list because you know they are going to look to sabotage the 3 other teams in the division somehow. Now I could be wrong, Matt Flynn/Terrelle Pryor could be something, Darren McFadden could shake the injury bug, and Darrius Heyward-Bey could turn out to be better than Mich… oh wait they let his ass go. Oakland Sucks.
