The single most overrated thing in all of sports, the NFL draft. I have not watched an NFL draft in about seven years. I remember the first year I decided to skip it and how freeing it was. I went golfing with a couple of buddies instead and realized how much the draft really sucks.

In the weeks leading up to the draft we all have to hear more and more talk from clowns like Mel Kiper. The fact is no matter how much college football you watch you will not know all or even most of these guys.

We all have a handful of guys we watched in college that we are interested in seeing where they land. And we care where whom our team drafts, or does not draft if you are a Pats fan. But that can be found on your phone or on a ticker somewhere. We do not need, three days of draft coverage, with each pick being analyzed by guys that probably have never seen them play. The only reason to watch the coverage is for the overtired unintentional comedy late in the draft, and Gruden.

The worst thing about the whole draft is how everyone turns into a draft expert. Mel Kiper is annoying, but the guy asking where you have some asshole lineman from Grambling going. I don’t know dick and neither do you. I would tell you to just watch it to find out and leave me alone but I would never force that on anyone. There is next to zero drama in the NFL draft and is made up of mostly guys you have never heard of. If you have heard of them it’s because you read what other people have said about them. You did not see them for yourselves and you have no idea if they are going to pan out. Like how I took New Mexico to make the Final Four this year because I heard how good they were.

I do not understand why people want to tune in to a show that is guaranteed to never raise their heart rate once. There is nothing it’s just a flat line. You don’t know these guys and can find out where your favorite players went or whom your favorite team drafts via your phone. Do yourself a favor and watch some NBA playoffs or some late season hockey. They are much more interesting and they don’t make you dumber for watching.
