This Week In Media 6/11/13
What a week for media. Superman comes back, and Sony kicks Microsoft in the nuts at E3. Check it out…
Movies
Man of Steel
This is the End
I’m not sure how I feel about either one. Every time I watch the trailer for Man of Steel my opinion changes. It is either going to be Dark Knight –level good, or Any of the Hulk movies-level bad. I was always a bigger Superman over Batman fan as a kid because the man of steel actually had superpowers. As for This is the End, didn’t they just try this with Movie 43, and it turned out awful? Sure the cast is better for this one, but it has to be close to the same movie right? I’ll still end up giving it a shot when it makes it to Netflix.
Video Games
Xbox One
PS4
If you haven’t heard already, PS4 and Xbox One were announced at E3. There are two big digs that Sony took at Microsoft. One is the fact that once you put a game in the Xbox, it is only good on that system. That means no resale value for your games, and no bringing your game to a friend’s house. The other major dig is the price. PS4 rolls out at $399 and Xbox one at $499 – a major switch since the last release. As for the systems and games themselves. We’ll have to wait and see. No sense getting excited until one of your friends buys one first.

Music
Black Sabbath – 13
The Lonely Island – The Wack Album
To say that these are two completely different styles of music would be an understatement, but oh well, enjoy (Bonus Zach Galifanakis interviewing James Franco in the Lonely Island video).
