NRA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway
As we head to Texas we go from the shortest track on the circuit to perhaps the fastest. Texas is a paved 1.5 mile super speedway similar to Atlanta and many other tracks they visit. Everyone wants to get their hands on those six shooters in victory lane and with speeds topping 200mph they will have to work for it.
Best Bets:
Matt Kenseth 7-1
Matt has been racing maybe better than he ever has as of late. He placed 14th last week but he was racing up front for most of the day and that is at a track that he absolutely hates. He has led laps in five out of six races and now Texas, where he won this race two years ago and finished 5th last year. He did not have the greatest qualifying run but he is fast and loves this place.
Greg Biffle 18-1
Same goes for the Biff. He won this thing last year and finished 4th the year before. As with Kenseth he had a bad qualifying run but it is a long race, Biffle will be up the front eventually. 18-1 is tremendous value for this race team at this track.
Tony Stewart 15-1
Tony is desperate for a win, or at least a top 5 finish. This is a track he typically excels at. He loves these 1.5 mile fast race tracks and is a threat to win every single one of them. He will roll off 13th and should move to the front almost immediately.
Aric Almirola 50-1
Here is the best bet you will ever see. Almirola is also my pick to win this week. Maybe I am just buying into hype like I did with New Mexico in the NCAA Tourney but Almirola has been by far the best car so far this week even Brad Keselowski said as much himself. He starts inside row two thanks to the Busch brothers nice qualifying laps. But he will be beating down their bumpers as soon as the green flag drops. I think he has what it takes to win this week and 50-1 is at the very least the best value bet you will find all year, other than when I told you guys to bet Freddy Couples at 150-1 and now trails by 1 shot after 36 holes. I hope you all got in on that one now get in on this one.
