NFL Pick'Em: Week 6, 2013
Week 6 got underway with another ugly Thursday night affair between the Bears and Giants. The Giants got the garbage score to cover late in the game. As far as the rest of the slate goes, we have a handful of what could be great games. Let's get to the picks.
* Home teams in bold.
AP3
Oakland +9 over Kansas City
That's a lot of points for a ball control team against a division rival. Look for Pryor to backdoor cover this one as he has emerged as the Cam Newton from 2 years ago.
Tampa Bay +1 over Philadelphia
The cancer that is Josh Freeman is now gone. Look for a heavy dose of Doug Martin against a weak Eagles defense.
Baltimore +3 over Green Bay
This is more of a case of Green Bay looking very mediocre at home last week with extra rest and a Lions team without their best player. Harbaugh may have realized he needs to use Ray Rice more. Take the points with the defending champs at home.
Cleveland +2.5 over Detroit
Upset Alert!
Calvin may be out another week and Matt Stafford did not look the same without him. I know it's Brandon Weeden, but this Browns defense should be able to win one at home.
Minnesota -2.5 over Carolina
Lock Alert!
The Panthers are a bunch of frauds. Cam Newton is not good. Their defense is overrated, and they are doing background checks on head coaches. Free money here.
Houston -7.5 over St. Louis
Basically a must win game for the Texans. I'm starting to feel bad for Matt Schaub. The guy isn't elite, but he does his job. People should be more pissed that Kubiak still has a job.
NY Jets -2.5 over Pittsburgh
What a swing from +2 opening. Part of me wants to take the Steelers with extra rest against a rookie QB. Not to mention the fact that Tomlin took away all of the games in the locker room.
Buffalo +7 over Cincinnati
lock alert!
I understand that it's Thad Lewis Lewis, and honestly I don't know who Thad Lewis is. But what I do know, is that I watched this Bengals team struggle to beat a piss-poor Patriots team at home. The Bills at least have a couple offensive weapons, and they do play better at home. This line should be 3.5 tops.
Seattle -13.5 over Tennessee
Ryan Fitzpatrick in Seattle.
Denver -27 over Jacksonville
If you think the Broncos are going to score 45-50 points, then that means the Jaguars have to score at least 18-23 points to cover. Not going to happen.
San Francisco -10.5 over Arizona
Extra rest to get ready for Carson Palmer and a hobbling Larry Fitzgerald? Yes please.
New Orleans +2.5 over New England
Gronkowski isn't going to play. Brady doesn't trust his receivers. And Drew Brees is having a very under the radar MVP caliber season.
Dallas -5.5 over Washington
This Cowboys offense is one of the best in the league. With the Cowboys out for revenge from last year's week 17 loss, even an extra week to prepare won't help the Redskins.
Indianapolis -1.5 over San Diego
Andrew Luck is legit, we knew that, but many of us are surprised that the Colts are. They are in the driver's seat to win the AFC South.

MLZ
Kansas City -9 over Oakland
Arrowhead is going to be rocking. Combine that with a solid Chiefs defense going up against a young QB and you should have a 24-10 type game with a lot of Raiders mistakes.
Philadelphia -1 over Tampa Bay
Somehow Chip Kelley is now the longest tenured coach in Philadelphia. What will really be interesting in this one is we should find out what's worse for a football team, Josh Freeman or staphe infections.
Baltimore +3 over Green Bay
This is an absolute stay away. I have no confidence in either of these two teams so I'm taking the home team and the points.
Detroit -2.5 over Cleveland
The Lions really need Calvin Johnson to play, but Brandon Weeden starting isn't helping the Browns' cause.
Carolina +2.5 over Minnesota
While Ron Riveira may be the worse head coach in football, Cam Newton isn't exactly helping him out. While Cam has nearly no help on offense he has not elevated his game. But with Peterson's status suddenly up in the air, I have to take Carolina once again.
St. Louis +7.5 over Houston
Is TJ Yates really that bad? How does he not get the nod after Schaub has thrown an INTD in four straight games? Houston is not good and while I think they win this game, it won't be easy.
Pittsburgh +2.5 over NY Jets
Moneyline Special
This feels like a vintage Roethlisberger game. The Jets love to blitz and the Steelers offensive line has been a sieve. So the Steelers will need Ben to move around and make things happen. Also two weeks for an experienced defense to prep for a rookie quarterback should be enough to keep them in the game.
Buffalo +7 over Cincinnati
I don't know who will be under center for the Bills but I do know that the Bengals are far from a juggernaut. The Bills defense plays well at home and should keep this one close enough to cover.
Seattle -13.5 over Tennessee
Lock Alert!
Ryan Fitzpatrick in Seattle.
Jacksonville +27 over Denver
After such a big win over the Cowboys last week it's going to be difficult for the Broncos to really get up for this game.
San Francisco -10.5 over Arizona
The Cardinals have done a great job at keeping games low scoring and staying in the game. I think they will do that again this week but a late score will allow the 49ers to cover.
New Orleans +2.5 over New England
The Patriots are hurting in a bad way and this line really doesn't make sense to me. This should at least be a PK.
Dallas -5.5 over Washington
This game could swing the Cowboys season in one of two ways. Either they are going to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to the Broncos and run over this awful Redskins team. Or the loss last week will get to them and RG3 will rip them up after having two weeks to get ready for this one.
San Diego +1.5 over Indianapolis
The Colts are good but I honestly believe they are going to come from behind to win this game by just 1.

Moneyline Special Record 4-4
