2013 Power Rankings Week 2

Image description

With one week behind us the NotBS Power Rankings saw only one team jump into the top 10 that wasn't there last week, with the Bears, Steelers, Vikings, and Redskins being the biggest movers.

Rank Team Previous Rank Up/Down Record Against The Spread Next Opponent The Word
1 49ers 1 0 1-0 1-0 at Seattle Impressive win from the 49ers against a high powered Packers offense
2 Broncos 2 0 1-0 1-0 at Giants Started slow, but Peyton Manning looks like he's in his prime. And him and Welker will only get better. Scary.
3 Seahawks 4 1 1-0 1-0 vs San Francisco This week is a true test when the 49ers come to town on Sunday Night Football.
4 Texans 5 1 1-0 0-1 vs Tennessee Started very slow then realized that they were playing the Chargers and their offense woke up
5 Saints 8 3 1-0 1-0 at Tampa Bay Total Eff You season in the making. The Saints get Head Coach Sean Payton back
6 Patriots 3 -3 1-0 0-1 vs. Jets Someone put the Bat-signal out for some receiver and offensive line help for Brady. At least their most effective running back on Sunday had surgery Monday.
7 Falcons 7 0 0-1 0-1 vs St. Louis There was no way they were going to go into New Orleans and steal one after last season. That being said, look for them to light up the Rams.
8 Packers 6 -2 0-1 0-1 vs Washington They were a bad call away from maybe beating the defending NFC Champs.
9 Cowboys 10 1 1-0 1-0 at Kansas City Get used to Ugly Sloppy shootouts from the Cowboys
10 Bears 19 9 1-0 0-0-1 vs Minnesota I may have been totally wrong on the Bears this year. They may still be legit.
11 Colts 12 1 1-0 0-1 vs Miami Take the wins anyway you can get 'em.
12 Dolphins 15 3 1-0 1-0 at Indianapolis They did what they were supposed to do in Cleveland.
13 Chiefs 21 8 1-0 1-0 vs Dallas A lot of people project a big turnaround for the Chiefs, more people will be thinking that way if they can beat the Cowboys this week.
14 Bengals 13 -1 0-1 0-0-1 vs Pittsburgh Marvin Lewis is the 2nd longest tenured coach in the NFL. Wrap your brain around that.
15 Eagles 20 5 1-0 1-0 vs San Diego Aside from a few big Michael Vick mistakes, that Chip Kelly offense looks impressive. Philly's defense also created turnovers. Good start for a rookie coach.
16 Lions 17 1 1-0 1-0 at Arizona Their offense looks mighty scary with Reggie Bush now in the mix.
17 Giants 14 -3 0-1 0-1 vs Denver 6 turnovers a game won't win you very many.
18 Ravens 23 5 0-1 0-1 vs Cleveland They hung with the Broncos in the first half, until John Harbaugh proved how overrated he is as a coach by making some bonehead decisions.
19 Panthers 18 -1 0-1 0-1 at Buffalo O/U 3.5 weeks left for Ron Rivera.
20 Redskins 9 -11 0-1 0-1 at Green Bay Yikes week 1 was ugly. Traveling to Lambeau after a Packers loss may not be the best thing for RG3's knee either.
21 Steelers 11 -10 0-1 0-1 at Cincinnati Losing 3 players to season-ending injuries and your home opener to the Titans is not a winning formula
22 Chargers 22 0 0-1 1-0 at Philadelphia Philip Rivers went all PHILIP RIVERS!
23 Rams 27 4 1-0 0-1 at Atlanta They are still filling out their thank you cards to Carson Palmer.
24 Bills 29 5 0-1 1-0 vs Carolina EJ Manuel looked decent. CJ Spiller did not.
25 Titans 26 1 1-0 1-0 at Houston Big win from the Titans. They could be pesky.
26 Vikings 16 -10 0-1 0-1 at Chicago 78 yard touchdown run on the first play of the game, and he finishes with 93 yards? Either he's losing a step or it's time for a new coordinator.
27 Cardinals 25 -2 0-1 1-0 vs Detroit The Cardinals had the game. Then Carson Palmer did what he does best, lose.
28 Browns 28 0 0-1 0-1 at Baltimore They hung with the Dolphins for a while, but they are still a QB away from being a legit team in this league.
29 Raiders 32 3 0-1 1-0 vs Jacksonville Surprising effort from the Raiders at Indianapolis this past week. Look for the Raiders to pick up their first win this week against the lowly Jaguars.
30 Jets 31 1 1-0 1-0 at New England Congrats to the Jets for getting their only win of 2013.
31 Buccaneers 24 -7 0-1 0-1 vs. New Orleans This is what happens when you lose to the Jets.
32 Jaguars 30 -2 0-1 0-1 at Oakland 2 Points in your home opener against the worst team in football, when you lose your starting QB is a good omen for the season right?

AP3

Patriots -13 over Jets
How is this line still at 13? The Pats are losing their top two offensive performers from week one in Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen, Stevan Ridley has a case of the dropsies, and the offensive line struggled to hold off a 3-man Buffalo rush most of the time. Oh wait, it's the Jets.
