2013 AAC Football Preview

Image description

This was a bit jammed in at the last minute but it’s the freaking AAC sue me.

How they’ll finish:

10. Temple (+5000)

A new pocket passing offense will be brought in by Matt Rhule in his first year as the Owls’ head coach. However they don’t really have a pocket passer.

9. Memphis (+5000)

Memphis has some nice pieces in place but nowhere near enough depth to compete. They have a stud nose tackle a couple good running backs to ground n pound teams and a great punter, but that’s about it.

8. USF (+2500)

I really liked this team heading into last year, I won’t be bit in the ass again.

7. UConn (+2500)

A few disappointing seasons in a row at a hoops school and your coach might be on the hot seat. They need to get their offense out of the mud and hopefully top running back Lyle McCombs can carry them out on his back.

6. SMU (+2000)

This team will provide some entertaining offensive packages and some fun trick plays, but the defense needs to be sorted out and that may take some time.

5. Rutgers (+500)

As Rutgers plans to bolt to the Big 10 next year they are overgoing a rather big overhaul. They lost a ton of quality starters from last year's team that earned a share of the conference title. This year they will struggle before leaving the AAC.

4. Louisville (-250)

There is way too much hype surrounding Teddy Bridgewater. There is no possible way he can live up to it. They might lose in week 1 against Ohio and roll over and die the rest of the year. They have terrible special teams and would probably amount to being the 8th best team in the Big 12. There is no way I can pick them to win this conference.

3. UCF (+700)

This team is going to fire away. Lot’s of offense and lots of passing the football. This should be a fun team to watch.

2. Houston (+3500)

This team can put up some points. Their new offensive coordinator should help come in and help provide a bit more consistency out of that offense. The defense will need to overcome an undersized front seven but it helps when your offense is scoring points.

1. Cincinnati (+250)

Did you know the Bearcats have won at least a share of the Big East title four out of the last five years? This year they get Louisville at home in the pseudo conference championship final week.
