Remember... All Nighters
Hopefully everybody in the Northeast is shoveled out, that was one
hell of a storm. The snow just wouldn't let up. It wasn't as windy
as they predicted, but the weathermen can't be 100% right, why
break their streak. But it got me thinking about how much fun
staying up all night as a kid is and how it's the polar opposite
for an adult.
Friday the snow started, I got out of work at around noon, it was
kind of nice for a little while. But then the realization that the
crazies weren't wrong on this storm. I put a pot of coffee on and
proceeded to just stay up all night and stay ahead of this storm,
if I hadn't I would still be shoveling. Sometime around cup of
coffee number eight or nine probably 3am I started thinking about
how miserable staying up all night is at this point in my
life.
As a kid it's the best thing you can do. You have one of your good
friends come spend the night on a Friday or Saturday night, dudes
stay up all night playing video games and chicks lez out all night,
or whatever it is you guys do at your slumber parties. Point is
every part of staying up all night as a kid is great. You know you
are not supposed to so that's a plus, then there's playing far too
many video games, eating a bunch of snacks, and having a bunch of
laughs.
Now anytime you stay up past your bedtime you are pissed you missed
out on some sleep. When you have to pull an all nighter it's for
something miserable, like working or shoveling all
night.
