2013 NHL Award Winner Predictions
The NHL is
back!
Vezina Trophy
Winner (Best Goaltender)
The Favorite: Henrik Lundqvist 4/1
The Field: 12/1
Notables: Pekka Rinne 15/2, Jimmy Howard 11/1, Cam Ward 18/1,
Tuukka Rask 12/1, Devan Dubnyk 50/1
The Pick: Jonathan Quick 5/1
The Reason: Quick is coming off of a fantastic playoffs and, other
than Martin Brodeur, is the goalie with the most recent win in the
NHL. The key to this pick is a winning team, and the Kings have the
most talent on paper. A good long shot is Ward at
18/1.
Art Ross Trophy Winner (Most
Points)
The Favorite: Sidney Crosby 11/4
The Field: 15/1
Notables: Evgeni Malkin 5/1, Stephen Stamkos 13/2, Henrik Sedin
10/1, Joe Thornton 45/1, Pavel Datsyuk
45/1
The Pick: Alex Ovechkin 13/2
The Reason: Ovechkin is looking to rebound from one of the worst
seasons in his career. New Head Coach Adam Oates is a former
forward and had a knack for putting points up. Ovechkin tore it up
during the lockout and is poised for a big year. Datsyuk at 45/1 is
a good long shot bet.
"Rocket" Richard Trophy Winner (Most
Goals)
The Favorite: Steven Stamkos 11/4
The Field: 18/1
Notables: Alex Ovechkin 4/1, Evgeni Malkin 5/1, Phil Kessel 18/1,
Jerome Iginla 30/1, Taylor Hall 30/1
The Pick: Malkin
The Reason: Simple; Sidney Crosby is back to distribute. Kessel and
Hall are good long shot bets.
Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP)
The Favorite: Sidney Crosby 4/1
Any Defenseman: 30/1
Any Goaltender: 5/1
Field: 11/5
Notables: Stephen Stamkos 6/1, Alex Ovechkin
13/2
The Pick: Any Goalie. This seems logical right? 48 games in 99
days, goaltending is what will determine the success and failure of
a team more so than ever this season. Ovechkin is a solid play at
13/2.
